If you’ve ever played a video game with a controller, you already have a head start! Many drones are controlled with a joystick system similar to a video game console. Here’s how it relates:

• Throttle and Pitch: Just like moving a character forward or backward in a video game, you use the left joystick to adjust your drone’s height (throttle) or direction (yaw). Want to “jump” higher? Push up on the joystick for more throttle.
• Roll and Yaw: Similar to controlling a car or character’s movement in a game (turning left or right), the right joystick moves your drone sideways or rotates it to face a new direction. It’s as if you’re steering a car in the sky!

Just like in video games, practice makes perfect—the more you practice, the more natural the controls will feel.
