๐Ÿ“œ Drone Safety Rules and Regulations

1. Fly Below 400 Feet (120 Meters)

This is the most common rule worldwide. Flying above this height can put your drone in the way of other aircraft, like planes or helicopters.

2. Keep Your Drone in Sight

Always maintain line of sight with your drone. This means you should always be able to see it with your own eyes (not just on the screen of your controller). This ensures you donโ€™t accidentally fly too far or into dangerous areas.

3. Avoid Crowded Areas

Donโ€™t fly over people or large crowds. Drones can malfunction, and you wouldnโ€™t want it to fall and hurt someone. This includes parks, public events, and even busy streets.

4. Stay Away from Airports

Drones can interfere with planes taking off or landing. Never fly near airportsโ€”most countries have strict regulations about maintaining a certain distance (usually 5 miles or 8 kilometers).

5. Check Local Laws

Different countries (and even cities) have their own laws about where and how drones can be flown. For example:

  • In the USA, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires you to register your drone if it weighs more than 0.55 pounds (250 grams).
  • In Europe, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has similar rules depending on your drone’s weight and purpose.
  • Some places, like national parks, may have complete no-fly zones.

6. Respect Peopleโ€™s Privacy

Avoid flying your drone in residential areas or near someoneโ€™s private property without permission. Always be considerate of people’s privacy.
