# How this site is built

How smartwebutah.com is made: plain pages built with Astro, served by Cloudflare Pages, with a small contact-form function and a Markdown copy of every page.

This site used to run on WordPress. I rebuilt it as plain pages, made ahead of time with [Astro](https://astro.build/) and served by [Cloudflare Pages](https://pages.cloudflare.com/). Nothing runs on a server while you read, so pages load fast and there is little to keep patched.

## The parts that do run

-   **The contact form** sends through a small Cloudflare Pages Function, which emails your message to me and sends you a short note that it arrived. It keeps no copy of your message.
-   **Old course addresses** under `/courses/` are sent on to the same lessons in [the academy on sethshoultes.com](https://sethshoultes.com/academy/).

## For AI assistants

-   [llms.txt](https://smartwebutah.com/llms.txt) says what this site is, with a link to every page.
-   Every page also has a Markdown version, at its address plus `index.md`, and a request that asks for `text/markdown` gets it.
-   An [agent card](https://smartwebutah.com/.well-known/agent-card.json) and a read-only [MCP description](https://smartwebutah.com/.well-known/mcp.json) are in `/.well-known/`. There’s no chat here yet, so the agent card’s endpoint politely says so.

## How I tested it

I rebuilt one WordPress site three different ways and timed each. The [write-up](https://guide.smartwebutah.com/) is there for anyone who likes the details.
